Sharing my story
Hi! Iām Kat, a proud Eastern Shore native who found her heart and home on a beautiful 81-acre farm in Delaware. My journey into agriculture started as a shared dream with my husband, deeply rooted in his family's farming legacy.
Married in 2014, we took the leap to turn our dream into reality in 2015. Though initially, I hadn't planned to be deeply involved in the farm, life had other plans. I discovered a profound passion for the very soil we walk on, the animals we care for, and the crops we cultivate.
Our days are a vibrant blend of tending to our poultry operation and a growing herd of cattle, ranging from American Hereford Association Registered full-size and miniature Herefords to a mix of Black Angus and crossbreeds. Fields of hay, corn, soybeans, and wheat contribute to the tapestry of our farm life.
Yet, amidst the hustle of being young farmers and business owners, our most cherished roles are those of parents to our two young children. Balancing parenthood with the demands of having a farm and two other businesses is a rewarding challenge we navigate each day.
Through this space, I aim to offer you a genuine peek into our daily farm life, the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, and the joys and struggles of parenthood. My desire is to bridge the gap between farm and table, connecting with those who may be miles away from the agricultural heartbeat. I want you to appreciate not just the food we grow, but the love, sacrifices, and challenges embedded in every crop and livestock.
Everly Acres is more than a place; it's a platform to empower women and girls venturing into traditionally male-dominated fields. Join me on this journey ā where farm life, family, entrepreneurship, and empowerment intersect.
