Ditch your comfort zone

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

We as human beings know that a comfort zone is a psychological boundary you create for yourself. Many people choose to stay within their comfort zone because it includes everything they know and understand. Creating a comfort zone is a healthy adaptation for much of our lives.

But so is stepping out of our comfort zone when it’s time to transition, grow, and transform. If we always play it safe, we can never grow and ultimately rise above 🌱

What we often fear most about challenging ourselves to do something unfamiliar is that we may fail and/or get hurt. But most of us have the ability to rise to the occasion, overcome hurdles and obstacles, and actually succeed in accomplishing something new and challenging.

To stop ‘fearing your fear’ and step out of your comfort zone, you must do more of what scares you.

Funny enough, as a child I was not an animal lover whatsoever. I was scared of dogs, goats, horses and refused to milk a cow on a field trip in Kindergarten. Something about goats and their eyes creeped me out. I had the preconceived notion that all horses would kick you, buck you off the saddle and bite your finger off. When we purchased our farm in 2015 and ultimately started raising livestock in 2017, I had to slowly nudge myself to explore unchartered territory. Now I cannot imagine my life without knowing the love of animals, just like this bull, Hershey. A few weeks ago, I even ran the chute by myself on our farm. Next up is learning to apply their ID tags 💪

So, if you want to achieve big things in life and tap into your full potential, resolve to ditch the comfort zone and prepare yourself to enter the growth zone just like I have and continue to do.
