Making it look easy
I recently read a post from a fellow girl boss about how she believes that making entrepreneurship look easy is one of her gifts, but also one of her faults. That hit me like a ton of bricks because I am guilty of this, too.
What you see on social media is just a small glimpse into someone's life, especially a business owner. We tend to share moments to celebrate, perfect photo opportunities, etc.
What you don't see is the stress, the planning, the difficult decision making, the late nights, the early mornings, the literal blood, sweat and tears that I have put into each business that I have created. Even though most days I know I was born to be an entrepreneur with tenacity(spy the photo of me planning my first operation at the young age of 2), I too have moments of doubt and fear of rejection that creep in.
I cannot even explain how much I have grown as a business owner and woman over the last 15 years. The hard lessons I have learned along the way, the friends I have made, the friends I have lost, the clients I have built relationships with…
Sweet girl, there will be times that you feel like giving up with your business. You might be going through a hard season like that right now. Just keep going, keep rising, keep showing up. Sometimes, our biggest breakthrough happens just when you feel like you can no longer hold on.
